• Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years’ experience in design and development engineering
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers, including program management, to ensure successful project execution
• Generate manufacturable mechanical solutions from complex project requirements through innovative 3D conceptual designs
• Build sketch and production-level prototypes
• Develop cost effective mechanical systems to evaluate conceptual designs
• Perform system testing and documentation of results
• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
• Work under the direction of Program Managers, Principal Investigators or Project Engineers
• Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, or applicable military standards
• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards
• Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office/lab/warehouse environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work with hands solving hands-on mechanical engineering tasks
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Demonstrated ability to employ first principles in design concept development
• Demonstrated ability to take a design from concept to production
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, autonomously driven atmosphere
• Extensive experience in prototype and production manufacturing and fastening technologies as well as assembly methods
• Deep knowledge of metal, plastic, and composite material performance parameters
• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Deep experience with 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorks
• Must possess technical and analytical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule
• Ability to create quality concise technical reports
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Working practical knowledge of AS9100
• Experience in the defense or aerospace industries
• Experience designing user-centered products
• Experience designing electrical/mechanical systems for thermal, acoustic, and vibration
• Experience designing engine-driven electrical power systems
• MSME or equivalent degree with a published thesis
• Experience developing and executing test plans for MIL-STD requirements
• FE certificate or PE license in Mechanical Engineering
BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience
