• Lead and manage all production operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
• Source and evaluate capital equipment purchases, making recommendations based on operational needs and budgetary considerations
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and quality to ensure manufacturability and the quality of products
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer demands and deadlines
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in production processes
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork within the production department
• Train and mentor staff, promoting skill development and career growth.
• Work on equipment when necessary
• Attend company meetings
• Work with other areas of the organization to ensure quality standards, safety regulations and customer service needs are met
• Along with all production duties, the Production Manager must create daily schedules for the production team, assign duties as necessary, approve time off requests, interview potential candidates, and conduct reviews/evaluations for current staff
• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed, and must enforce PPE guidelines for all production employees
• Also, hands on production floor tasks including, but not limited to: parts receiving, cleaning/clean line operation, fixturing, de-fixturing, parts inspection, delivering parts to customer sites, packing, shipping
• Physical job duties: lifting parts (solo lift 50lbs, team lift 50+ lbs.), bending, moving throughout all areas of production floor; working with chemicals as needed for cleaning process
• Occasional travel. Must be able to travel to headquarters in North Carolina for training as needed/required by senior leadership
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Must have over 3 years of management experience, managing people and products, in a production or warehouse environment or equivalent internal experience
• Must have strong team leadership skills, solid communication skills, problem solving skills, and must be able to work well with others
• Computer competency (Word, MS Office, and Teams)
• Physical skills and qualifications: must be able to lift, bend and move throughout all areas of production; must be able to wear appropriate PPE as needed for tasks
• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Higher education preferred
• Must have over 3 years of management experience, managing people and products, in a production or warehouse environment or equivalent internal experience
