UPT is looking for a level 3 Systems Engineer with a background in the utilization of system engineering processes to improve the execution of projects and their compliance with AS9100.

Responsibilities

• Competent technical expertise in executing systems engineering processes

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and objectives

• Work under the direction of senior engineers, project engineers, and/or Program Managers

• Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, as well as military standards

• Work closely with the Project Engineer to ensure project compliance to the AS9100 requirements

• Perform data analysis and develop reports

• Develop test plans, procedures, and reports based on system requirements

• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards

• Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office/lab/warehouse environment. Must have the ability to lift 30 lbs. and work with hands solving hands-on tasks

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Over 5 years’ experience executing projects under AS9100 requirements

• Ability to complete tasks independently

• Familiarity with the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook

• Experience applying Systems Engineering principles with experience in Systems Engineering and/or systems integration

• Experience with the analysis, design, development, implementation, and test of systems and/or subsystems

• Demonstrated experience managing schedule, risk, and requirements

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with senior management, design team, and customers

• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Desired Qualifications

Experience / Education

• Systems Engineer with more than 8 years’ experience in research, design and development engineering

• BS in Engineering from an ABET or IOP-accredited program

• Understanding of SBIR and military R&D process preferred

• Experience with MIL-STD design and testing preferred

• Experience in the defense or aerospace industries a plus
